the dark spirit manipulation leads to tech advancements across the galaxy (some rogues can even jump galaxies?) but it also fragments their shadow ego self so rhere are more identity issues, debauchery, and sin. the galactic gov tries to redefine statustics to cover this up. the main character has their own issues but somehow their avatar is more in tune, this leads to plot points in the character arcs, this leads to ability to manipulate the tech, and the gov catching on to that. some of it isnt even intentional. maybe they are searching out these anomalies.

the light spirit can also be fragemented, the gov is learning, and that along w the dark spirit fragments can be used to control the population and study and manipulate genetics.

There are objective streams of logic and conciousness both separate and imbued within every individual. they also discover this is how angels and demons communicate with beings – and demons and angels are in circuitry. this esoteric awareness is.not well known to the population but the governments and secret societies etc can communicate directly with demons and angels, as well as interdimensional beings. demons and angels are fundamentally different types of quasi-beings but can manifest into the world especially with yhe help of the tech. there can be whole story arcs with that. maybe some.individuals can get into close contact with angels and demons.
and the angels and demons are both morally grey, but lean towards malice/benefecs. their logic doesnt always make.sense in the material world. angels are more asociated with light spirit, demons with dark, which can be elaborated on.

I want to add fantasy elements too. Swords, crystals, earth powers that the ancients were aware of, that worlds/planets naturally produce out of their own spirit energy fields, rather than only have all this exist from tech. it could say the most pure versions of these energy manifest themselves naturally, and humans and beings have all these powers that tech does dormant in their own conciousness.

everything has spirit, and there are different energy fields and conciousness wuth different states of matter and organizations. demons and angels also differ or congregate differently thru these energy fields. planets have an energy field. the universe and time has energy. that is the force in its most basic sense, and its permeation thru all light, matter, antimatter and its organization.

you do have some rogue droids but its not all that common. somewhat similar to star wars. droids are mostly only quasi-independent or theyre helpful. george lucas got it pretty much right when theyre given personalities.

androids like data in star trek are relatively rare and unstable. they can have augmented emotion devices like in star trek. also rare. those kinds of scientists are pretty rare, usually individuals. technocrats might capture some.

Technocrats are often very greedy, but not all that smart. some are very stupid, and thats why they often pollute and use slave labor instead of being extremelt efficient like what their tech could provide.

Capital planets are suualyl more technologically efficient, but still have underworlds, like coruscant.

The limitations in this world are that most tech breakthrus are thru the spirit matter links. the dematerializers for example are based on this, not on simple reorganization of matter like in star trek. i suppose thats possible, but the universe couldnt accomplish tjay. their tech arc happened thru these discoveries. while it opens the doors to a lot of lore, its also its limitation. tech has to be more complicated instead of simple. It opens the gates to a lot of metaphors with society, based around psychology, shadow selves, even religion, and where we are or the ethicsl concerns with our tech and governments.
it also does bring up legit theories about LLMs, nuclear tech, or wormholes and stuff like that, and conspiracies about WiFi, etc.
